This week we have been enjoying learning about Reindeer/Caribou, so I thought it would be a great idea to incorporate making reindeer food for my students to take home today.
(ingredients for reindeer food: oats, love, magic dust)
I showed my class the reindeer food recipe and we read the ingredients to be sure we could make it in class.
When we got to love they said they had plenty, but didn't know how to get it in the bag...so I pretended to search frantically in my supply box and pulled out red sugar sprinkles. I said, I think I just found some LOVE in a bottle!!!! They all cheered!
Then we read that we needed magic dust. We all decided that we were just students and teachers and that there wasn't any magic in the room. They told me to check my supply box just in case and what do you know I found green magic dust!
I set out the materials at each table and we read and followed the recipe instructions that I had both on the tables and projected ont he smart board.
Add one large scoop of oats
Add a sprinkle of love and a dash of magic dust
If you would like to grab the recipe, labels, and writing paper just click
Happy Friday!

So cute! Love it on the Smartboard. Thanks so much!

I have been doing Reindeer Food for years and LOVE it! Looks like your class had a blast! Using the Smartboard for your writing lesson was a FANTASTIC idea! Last year, I was so frantic the last week of school, I forgot the magic sprinkles to mix with the oats...So we improvised and used glitter instead. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your freebie!!!
